About this subreddit:

Ask Feminist Women is a place to ask legitimate questions about intersectional feminism.

We ask that you are respectful of other viewpoints when engaging in debate-this subreddit should exist to better educate one's self on feminism.

Rules:

  1. 1. No slurs/no hateful commentary

    • No slurs nor hateful commentary of any kind will be tolerated, unless being used as an example or discussion of the term. This definitely includes personal attacks.

    • Racism, Sexism, Transphobia, Ableism, and the like will absolutely not be tolerated and are grounds for an immediate and forever ban

    • All usage of these terms will be under strict scrutiny, and if it's not a good faith comment, it will be pulled

  2. 2. No Irrelevant Advice
    • Advice is allowed only in how it relates to Feminism. This means advice on situations where Feminism is relevant
      • This is not the place to ask what to buy your partner or what rash cream to use.
  3. 3. Top Level Comments Must Be On Topic
    • While we do want to encourage productive discussion, all top level comments must be answering the question of the poster.
  4. 4. No Invalidation
    • If someone is sharing their personal experience, you do not get to tell them they are wrong. Invalidation is not permitted
  5. 5. No Cross Posting
    • Cross Posting or linking thread from other subs here, or our sub there are grounds for immediate ban.
  6. 6. Videos and Links Must Have a Comprehensive Summary
    • All videos and outside links must have a comprehensive summary. The commenters should be able to comment without having to navigate out of the thread or google something
  7. 7. No Close-Ended Questions
    • All questions must be descriptive and open-ended. If the title can be answered with a yes/no, either/or, or options listed, it will be pulled
  8. 8. Good Faith Rule

    Everyone must participate here in good faith. If you try to start fights, troll, or further an agenda, you will be banned. This includes post history. If you come with an agenda and your post history shows you're garbage, you'll be banned at the discretion of the mods.

  9. 9. No Generalizations

    Even within the Feminist communities there are many differing opinions and creeds. Do not ask for the people here to explain behavior at large. They can only speak for themselves and from their own perspective.
