Spicy subreddit /r/boudoir

About this subreddit:

A subreddit for the art and business of boudoir photography. This community is here to help boudoir photographers -- both experienced and new -- to improve their skills and share their work. Subjects and models are allowed to post as well.

Rules:

  1. 1. Image Quality

This sub is for YOUR BEST work, not all of your work!

Please don't post blurry images, images with poor subject matter, black bands, "scribbles," or parts quickly scratched out or pixelated/blurred. Instead, consider posing and other methods to improve image quality if you need to hide something. Also, don't use a potato for a camera.

  2. 2. Titles Matter. Poorly titled images will be rejected!

Titling your photos can be challenging, but ask yourself why you're compelled to post the shot. A bit of a story goes a long way to helping to set the mood.

Do NOT use overly simple titles like "What do you think?", "Thoughts?", "Hot/Sexy Wife", or an emoji. These photos will be rejected and repeated attempts will get you muted or banned.

If you can't come up with a title, at least include your camera & settings for the photo. Example: Canon R5 - 1/250 f2.8 ISO 400 @ 70mm

  3. 3. No Porn

Be tasteful. Content for this sub stops at artful nude photography -- for both couples and individuals. Photos of direct sexual acts/direct touching of genitals/nipples (both within a couple or alone) will be removed from this sub. There are plenty of NSFW subs that you can submit to. Acceptable image content for this sub: boudoir/intimate photography, fetish, tasteful nude.

  4. 4. No Social or OF Handles in Titles

Do not add your links to your title, or post. You should be here looking to gain something out of the community, so you're welcome to drop a link in the comments if asked. Otherwise, there are a plethora of NSFW advertisement subs you can post to.

  5. 5. Poor Lighting

Posting your best work will always mean lighting is never a core problem. Images with poor lighting will be rejected.

Examples of poor lighting will be extremely underexposed images or images where the subject is barely visible. Or significant parts of the image are blown out with highlights so bright they are an issue. This can also occur with some aggressive filters and post production and should be avoided.

  6. 6. Don't Be a Dick

Seems self explanatory but let me elaborate. If you're going to step outside the bounds of (asked for) constructive criticism and post unnecessary or harmful comments, your comment will be deleted and you will be removed from the sub.

  7. 7. We Are an Inclusive Sub

Which means we allow and encourage posts or images of; LBTQ+, Black and NBPOC folks, disabled, plus-size (to name a few) or otherwise.

If you consider yourself a dude, try /r/dudeoir

  8. 8. Credit Where Credit's Due

Please only post images that you have the rights to share. If you happen upon an image that you think would fit the sub, please give proper credit where possible.

  9. 9. Post With Intention

Why are you sharing with us? Are you looking for advice or encouragement? Tips and tricks? Lighting help? Posing help? Or are you just wanting to celebrate a big win for you? Be specific so you can get the most out of this community as you can.

  10. 10. No Tasteless Watermarks

Watermarks that belong to an established business that are tastefully put in a corner to protect image theft is allowed. However, slapping the URL of a shitty dating website over an image that may or may not be yours, will result in NO warning and an immediate ban.

  11. 11. No Excessive Crossposting

Our goal is to create a communiuty there you interact and get to network and learn from each other. We will reject images that have been shared in a lot of other groups as we would prefer to reward those that want to interact with our community.

So, if you are posting an image you have also cross-posted or shared in quite a few other subs, it will be rejected. If you would like to share with us, interact, and then later cross-post, feel free to do so.

  12. 12. No Cosplay

It's a genre of photography that is valid, but doesn't belong here.
